This weekend marked the NBA All-Stars game, which was apparently meant to feature rapper Chris Brown, however, the only thing he’s been doing is ‘beefing’ with a bag of chips, the Ruffle’s social accounts.

The music star claimed he was meant to take part in the game, only to be uninvited later. He took to his Instagram to share screenshots to back up his case, as he was apparently set to be on the celebrity team managed by fellow rapper, Lil Wayne. However, he’s now claiming he wasn’t able to take part in the end, because of sponsors such as Ruffles, who have now spoken out.

“I was asked by the NBA to play in the all star game this year! Only for them to call later and say they couldn’t do IT because of their sponsors, like RUFFLES,” Brown wrote on his Instagram Story.

“At this point I’m sick of people bothering me and I’m tired of living in the f***** past,” the loyal singer wrote on an Instagram story, causing outrage online.

However, the sponsors didn’t take it to heart, as they were even seen cracking jokes on a viral Instagram page’s post about the occurrences.

“Wasn’t us, we found out about it the same time y’all did,” they wrote underneath a news post on the matter. However, they’ve now released an official statement, but fans still aren’t happy.

Taking to their official accounts, the potato chips company wrote: “Ruffles sponsored the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, however, Ruffles did not have any involvement in, nor visibility to, any player decisions or celebrity invite discussions.”

Despite this, it looks like Brown hasn’t forgiven the company, as he took to his story to share screenshots of his fans’ comments on the company’s page claiming they’ll “never eat” the brand again, and said they were trying to ‘save face’.

“Don’t try to make it look like I’m tripping,” he wrote on the ‘gram. “You and the NBA representatives know exactly what you’re doing.”

NBA have also spoken out on the claims, saying “Ruffles had no input into the Celebrity Game rosters.”

It looks to be a common thing with Brown these days, as Usher has recently spoken out on the rumor he invited the star to perform with him at this year’s Super Bowl.

“No, I did not reach out to Chris Brown,” the 45-year-old told The Breakfast Club, but confirmed the two were on good terms, despite rumors of a “kerfuffle,” last year.

“It’s all good, man,” he told host Charlamagne. “It’s actually always gon’ be things that you’re going to hear. Ain’t no issues between me and that man, we good.”

Although he didn’t ask Breezy, there were many celebrities the star reached out to.

“I’m not gon’ tell you everybody I reached out to. I reached out to some hitters. I was curating what would be one of the greatest Super Bowls of all time and it actually turned into that because of who I reached out to,” he said.

The star was joined on stage by Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, Ludacris, Will.i.am, Jermaine Dupri and H.E.R. as the crowd went wild.

Before the big show, fans were going wild speculating Justin Bieber may join the Confessions star on stage, but were gutted when he was just there to watch the game.

In the interview, Usher said they did have a conversation, but the 29-year-old was “wanting to tell a different story right now.”

But fear not, the singer teased they would be cooking up something very soon!
